Main Event
Smackdown came to The Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday October 30, 2005. I was lucky enough to have front row seats, directly behind the corner of the ring where Batista stood during his match. The match featured Batista and Eddie Guerrero in a Tag Title match against MNM. Batista and Guerrero lost the match when Melina gave a pair of brass knux to Mercury.
Dark Main Event
After the cameras stopped rolling, there was a dark main event match. It was a triple threat match for the World Championship featuring Batista vs Guerrero vs Orton. There were many funny spots in this match, but Batista ended up victorious!
Shimmy
Batista encouraged Eddie to do his shimmy dance, and Eddie said he wouldn't do it unless Batista joined him. Batista listened to instructions from Eddie on how to shimmy, and of course looked fabulous doing it!
End of Smackdown
The night ended with Batista soaking up the well deserved accolades from the crowd.
RAW
I also had tickets to Raw the next night at the Pond in Anaheim. Kudos to the Pond management for keeping a promise they made in June. Imagine our surprise when Batista showed up! He was defeated by Coach, Goldust, and Vader as a prelude to Taboo Tuesday the next night, where he was victorious!
